Russian Ornaments For Sale

By Gregor Smith

The Christmas 2008 season marked the best yet for our sales of Russian-made goods and Christmas ornaments. We took in over $1100 gross from various venues.

Kennebec Federal Savings (KFS) once again allowed the Connection to display trees with ornaments in the lobbies of each of its two branches in Waterville. We also sold ornaments at simultaneous Christmas craft shows at Waterville Senior High School and Temple Academy on the first Saturday in December.

The sale has become the primary fund-raiser for the Connection. It featured a wide selection of modestly priced wooden ornaments, including bells, maidens in colorful dresses, and decorative spoons. Each ornament was hand-painted and hand-carved, with no two exactly alike. For pictures of the ornaments, please see our Christmas in August posting.
